I've made my first draft set of questions for the interview. One set is aimed at people who have dyslexia and the other at parents of children with dyslexia.
Questions – Set A (people with dyslexia)
When did you first think you might be dyslexic?
Who first noticed the signs of dyslexia?
When were you diagnosed?
Were you diagnosed with anything else relating to dyslexia?
What were your main difficulties and have they improved?
What help did you receive and who did you receive this from?
Do you think you could have been helped more?
Did anyone treat you any differently once they knew? If so, how?
Do you think you have much knowledge of dyslexia?
Questions – Set B (parents of children with dyslexia)
When did you first think your child had dyslexia?
What made you think they might have dyslexia?
When was your child diagnosed?
What process did you go through to achieve a diagnosis for your child?
What help did your child receive?
What additional help do you think would have been useful?
What knowledge did you have of dyslexia to begin with?
How have you found this knowledge has developed?
I have a good amount of people with dyslexia to question, but only two parents to quetion, so will have to have an ask around for other parents!
I still need to draft up some consent forms and some general information forms.

Ideas for project - eLearning
Below are some mind maps of my project ideas.
After going through the knowledge that I have, I have decided that it would be a good idea to attempt to combine my interests and my knowledge gained during my placement year working in the eLearning Support Group. Therefore I will design an eLearning aid for either photography or video work.
I have decided to do this as I feel there is a need for it. There are many online tutorials for this sort of subject although there are few eLearning games. I wish to make the learning a more rounded and fun experience. I will also use my knowledge of using key terms and objectives to help the user's understanding. I will use strategies such as quizzes to recap on information.
I have yet to decide the exact content of my project. I will ensure that I do not put too much or too little content into the learning object and for this reason I will need to do more research.
I will also need to research some theories of pedagogy.

Ideas are yet to be flowing
Well...
I'm starting to think that the whole Wii idea is a bit dead end unless I can think of something that hasn't really been done... which I can't seem to do.
It could be a way of interacting with my project, although it may just turn out to be gimicky and rubbish so I'm going to put that on the back burner and concentrate on my idea for the project instead of how to interact with it.
I'm currently just getting ideas written down and attempting to make them make sense! I want to do something that interests me so I'm trying to concentrate on hobbies and interests and go from there.
I will upload pics of my mind-maps soon; fingers crossed they will encourage project ideas!

Wii ideas
As I now have a Wii, I would like to look at the possibilities for different interactions with the technology. I would like to make it into an interactive white board using a projector, this would give me a basis for my interactional uses. I would also like to use some sort of time lapse within my design.
In my opinion we are sat down far too much when interacting with technology, and nobody likes being sat at a desk for hours and hours. I would like to breath some new life into the views of technology and make something that people will want to use, and something that will be fun to use.
I will have a look into some uses of the Wii, and I will also need to research how to make it into an interactive white board.

The start!
It's all official, and here are our instructions!
- Find a short quote that frames or sparks your idea!
- make a list of 10 keywords
- write 3 paragraphs:
- what is missing in the world that needs your idea...
- what your idea is.... in no more that 5 sentences...
- what do you need to make it happen (practical things like java, flash, particle accelerator...)
- find 3 images that might look like it or inspire you...
The only problem is that I've now got to think of an awesome idea! Hmm...
